Betty Boo Necklace - Viva La Marzipan

The Betty Boo Necklace is our most-loved piece. A go-to for its versatility and the way it simply works with everything. Thoughtfully composed through texture, colour, and balance, it settles in naturally from the very first wear.

Each necklace is handmade using a considered mix of small-batch, hand-dyed wooden beads, semi-precious stones, and glass crystal beads, all strung on a durable waxed cotton cord. These natural elements bring depth and subtle variation, giving each piece its own unique character.

Wear it as a long, single strand for an effortless look, or double it up and secure with a clasp (sold separately) to create a shorter, more layered feel. It transitions easily between styles and pairs beautifully with other Marzipan pieces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the jewellery made from real gold or silver?

No, Marzipan jewellery is not made from solid gold or sterling silver.

We use high-quality, nickel-free brass and stainless steel components, often finished with 18-carat gold plating or sterling silver plating. These materials are chosen for their balance of durability, appearance, and wearability.

As with all plated jewellery, the finish will naturally evolve over time, especially with regular wear.

Will my Marzipan Jewellery tarnish?

Yes - over time, it’s natural for metal components in costume jewellery to soften in colour, fade, or tarnish with wear.

This process can be slowed by avoiding contact with water, perfumes, and body lotions, and by storing your pieces carefully when not in use.

With mindful care, your Marzipan pieces can be worn and enjoyed for years. If the metal begins to dull, it can be gently refreshed using a gold polishing cloth.

For more guidance, you can read our care guide on how to look after your Marzipan Jewellery.

Is Marzipan Jewellery suitable for sensitive skin or ears?

Yes. Marzipan Jewellery is designed to be gentle on the skin, and we’re mindful in our material choices.

Our pieces use Nickel-free stainless steel or brass components (often 18-carat gold or sterling silver plated), which are generally well-tolerated by most people. Nickel is the most common trigger when it comes to skin reactions from costume jewellery.

That said, sensitivity is very personal. Some individuals may still react to certain metals.

If you have highly sensitive skin or known metal allergies, we recommend choosing styles with minimal metal contact, or avoiding prolonged wear.
